Prior to creating SEM Productions in 1997, Kate Mahar spent more than five years with Revco Drugstores as Manager of Special Events. In that role, she planned and produced every element of three major yearly events and was responsible for a program budget of over $7 million.

When Revco Drugstores and CVS/pharmacy, Inc. merged in 1997, Kate elected to create a free-lance meeting and event planning business serving corporate and association clients. And so it was that SEM Productions was born! In 1999, Christine Paxton joined SEM, bringing with her years of hotel management experience to add to SEM's areas of expertise. Together, Kate and Chris are known for their exceptional client service and attention to every detail of the complex programs they produce. SEM also has a talented, trusted team of free-lance event staff to bring on site for larger programs.

Currently in its eighth year as an independent meeting and event planning company, SEM still approaches growth in a conservative manner, adding selected clients primarily through referrals from established accounts. Our goal is to perform as an extension of your staff, forging a personal relationship that enables us to make recommendations and decisions based solely on what is best for your company.

SEM Productions has planned, or is currently producing, meetings, trade shows, golf tournaments and other programs for clients such as, Rite Aid Drugstores, OfficeMax, Dairy Mart Convenience Stores, SARCOM, MicroAge, Cleveland Marathon and 10K, Cleveland Scholarship Programs, National College Access Network, Ohio College Access Network, just to name a few!
